The role of the Accountant is to support the financial management and operations of the credit union through maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs accounting duties of moderate complexity in accordance with standard procedures and under moderate supervision.

Bank reconciliations, assisting in the preparation of financial statements for use by the Board and management of the Credit Union, assisting in the budge process with an emphasis in the areas of financial analysis and forecasting, maintaining various general ledger subsidiary records, assisting with month end processing of general ledger close, maintaining financial records of the Credit Union, assisting with branch and member cost analysis, assisting with internal auditing, assisting with Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and various general ledger reconciliations, various projects as assigned by Accounting Supervisor, other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess two to five years of similar or related experience. One to two years of Credit Union experience preferred. A four year college degree in Accounting, Finance or Business desired. Must have thorough understanding of Accounting procedures. Must be able to operate a 10 key calculator by touch and have intermediate spreadsheet and database skills. Proficient in MS Office products.
