The primary role of the Loan Counselor is to preserve the credit union’s assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral.
Six months to two years of similar or related collections experience required including but not limited to skip tracing, repossessions, recovery of charged-off accounts, foreclosures, and workouts. Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy experience a plus. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in budgeting and counseling borrowers preferred.
High school diploma or GED is required.
