What happens when you truly believe in what you sell?
By: Jim Struble
My first job was at a Burger King in Sparta, WI. Those that know me understand that I value a meal consisting of a burger and fries! When it came to selling to our customers, my favorite burger to recommend was the Gilbert Brown Burger. Don’t recognize the name? Gilbert Brown was a mountain of a man who played for the Green Bay Packers during the timeframe I worked at Burger King. He was so recognizable and popular, the restaurant chain capitalized on this fact in Wisconsin and named a double whopper (with double everything but pickles) after him. It was a mouthful!
I loved that meal, and it made selling it easy. When you believe what you sell, you know you are helping others by selling. (“Helping” being a relative term here, as the caloric count was astronomical!) This phenomenon has been best described to me by a service industry expert as a “transfer of enthusiasm” and is the most effective and positive way to sell anything.
Peeling back the curtain here at Electro, our team has been experiencing the same circumstance with our new product lines. I had a one-on-one meeting yesterday with one of our UMRs from our Wildwood Branch, and she mentioned that she “loves” our new products! This same sentiment is expressed by nearly every staff member I’ve chatted with since we began to re-vamp our product sets.
Credit union DNA is best explained as “People Helping People.” When you couple that inherent culture with products that we all believe in, you have a home run!
One such home run is our Save to Win product. Members get a chance at winning up to $5,000 just by saving their own money! It’s an exciting product that will help families save, at a time where so many are struggling to do so. Due to the product fitting our culture so well, we’ve already met the goals we set for the product for the entire year! IT’S ONLY APRIL!!
If you haven’t done so lately, stop in and talk to our team about what’s new here at Electro. We’re here to help you and are more excited than ever to do so!
