Congratulations to our 2021 Credit Union Award Winners!

At our 2021 holiday (zoom) party, we were so excited to award two deserving team members with our Howard Hoemann Credit Union Culture award & our Jessica Young Leadership Volunteer award.
These awards honor two longtime board members and Directors' Emeritus, Howard Hoemann & Jessica Young. Howard, whose career and industry service spanned over 50 years, and Jessica, who gave countless hours to volunteering within her community for many worthy causes, including 13 years serving on the Electro Board.
Lisa Ellison, our Compliance Officer, was the recipient of the 2021 Howard Hoemann award. We look for a team member who demonstrates the credit union philosophy of people helping people, promotes Electro's culture of family, collaboration, and accountability, and actively demonstrates a commitment to the credit union movement.
"I am so honored to be chosen for such an amazing award," said Ellison. "I work beside some very amazing people. Each of them makes me want to work harder each day because of how dedicated and amazing they are."
Lisa's award is recognized with a trip to Washington D.C. in February for the Credit Union National Association Governmental Affairs Conference, where she'll have the opportunity to network and meet with industry peers and legislators.
Matt Cohen, Teller, received the 2021 Jessica Young Leadership Volunteer award, awarded to an outstanding team member who embodies the spirit of volunteerism and serves as a source of inspiration for their fellow employees through their community volunteerism.
Matt shares the same passion for volunteerism as Jessica, sharing 116 hours of his time with Gateway Pet Guardians in 2021. "I encourage everyone to find something they are passionate about and see how you can get involved. The experience is self-rewarding and worth your time," said Cohen.
Matt's award is recognized with 32 paid volunteer time off (VTO) hours, in addition to the eight VTO hours every Electro team member receives annually.
